Hi Pam

Many thanks for your report, of what sounds to be a wonderful evening.  Nicola Benedetti is a very, very talented musician indeed.  I am sure you had a night to remember, with the added bonus of a quick chat and a signing at the end of it, to top of proceedings.

If you are fond of the violin, I wonder if you have listened to any of Sarah Chang's recordings?  Her latest album of Bruch & Brahms violin concertos are brilliant and well worth giving a go.

All the best
Graham

Hi Graham,

I will certainly check out your recommendation of Sarah Chang. I really love the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G Minor. It is a piece that is going to be on Nicola's next album which is coming out soon according to the programme.

I would also recommend the Bruch / Mendelssohn Violin Concertos by Maxim Vengerov with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig conducted by Kurt Masur.

Thanks for the tip.

Pam

An excellent recommendation Pam, for lovers of violin works, Maxim Vengerov is an outstanding musician. The Bruch/Mendelssohn Violin Concerto's are 2 superb pieces. Great orchestra and conductor too, for those recordings! (plus many more concerto's and sonata's recorded on a double CD)
