Hi all
Well what a fantastic evening of music we had last night at Cheltenham Racecourse. An interesting venue for a summer picnic concert, just under the main stand at the racecourse.
The programme consisted of;Orchestra
Light cavalry overture
Katherine Jenkins
Till there was you La vie en rose Nella fantasia
Diana Yukawa
3000AD Flying
Katherine Jenkins
Una voce poco fa I will always love you The Godfather
INTERVAL
Orchestra
Sabre Dance
Katherine Jenkins
Hallelujah Habanera Love never dies
Diana Yukawa
Summer Elegy Snow Globe
Katherine Jenkins
Non Ti Scordar Di Me Angel Time To Say Goodbye
Orchestra
Hornpipe from Fantasia on British Sea Songs
Orchestra/Katherine Jenkins Rule Britannia Jerusalem Land of Hope and Glory
In addition to the advertised programme, we had the usual encore of We'll Meet Again and during the now traditional question and answer session, we had imprompteu renditions of I Vow To Thee My Country and the Welsh National Anthem.
The usual Katherine frock changes were to the fore once again, I'll let the ladies of the forum describe those as this is not an area of my expertise!
Katherine sang very well indeed and as this was my first summer concert of the year, it was pleasing that there was a good selection of songs from most of Katherine's albums and not just songs from Believe being performed.
A quick word about Diana Yukawa, a very talented contemporary violinist who is only 24. I am sure that this young lady has a big future ahead of her, watch out for her album 'The Butterfly Effect' which is due for release later this year.
It was lovely to meet up with forum friends once again, thanks to all for you company during the afternoon and evening it was great.
Photos will no doubt follow from other members, as for once I didn't bother with the camera I just sat back and enjoyed the music!
All the best Graham

| Thank you Graham It was a wonderful enchanted evening and so many friends old and new front row again but had to make a bit of a dash for it but i think with the exception of disabled who were let in before us I can say i some how crossed the finish line first but i think the wind was behind me and down hill !!!!!!! I may be getting on but I still have a bit of a run left in me was a bit worried when the security man said we had to go via the hurdles !!!!!! Katherine was in great voice and really enjoying herself I agree it was wonderful to hear the good old classics we love so much in the summer sun. SirP managed somehow to get the weather machine right tis time !!!! now packing for the next couple !! Karen
It is not the things that I have done that I regret but the things I did not do. KJA

| Hi All, Cheltenham was certainly a wonderful evening. Katherine was in sparkling form yet again and appreciated our Welsh flag draped across our legs. It was great to see the other forum members. The disabled car park was to the left of the stage and we were let in about 5 mins earlier than the able-bodied folk as we, unfortunately, are not able to run let alone hurdle!! When we got there most of the front row was taken by VIPs who didn't want to watch from the balconies and they couldn't have been a nicer lot of people! We hope you all enjoy the rest of the out-door concerts! Bern & Flo x
Proud to be Welsh like Katherine!
