Hi Everyone

Good luck Katherine and TeamKJ for tonight.

Please write your reports and post any photos here. Please don't start a new Topic. Katherine loves to read the feedback from us and it helps her if it's all under one Topic.
There are approximately 24 of you going.

Have a safe journey and a fantastic time.

Take care

Tricia

Sitting on some banking waiting for things to start. Listening to Katherine on phone.
Should have paid extra for the seated tickets. Still, got front row in Glasgow, just have to wait

Started quite gentle and built up to a tremendous finale.
Some songs I hadn't heard her sing live before.
The outside venue seems to loose some of the crispness of the inside venues, but that did not spoil a great concert.
Katherine appeared to relax and just let go as the second half progressed, and the last few songs, shivers down the spine stuff, brilliant.
The lassie playing the cello put out some amazing tones.

Only complaint was the screens to either side of the stage, the resolution was not very good at all, in this day and age, its not realy good enough IMHO
and the white balance kept going off, so that the screens were so bright they eclipsed the stage.

I don't suppose any one could come up with a list of the songs, I forgot most of the titles?

Hi Everyone,
The Close House Concert was everything that you could wish for from Katherine.
She sang wonderfully.
The corporate attendees in the VIP seating area were I thought disrespectful as some were there to drink as much as they could rather than watch the performance.
We travelled from Bristol to see Katherine not to have her performance spoilt by some people who did not want to be there. But were just there because someone else was footing the bill.
I did mention this to the Management at Close House and they were very attentive to any comments as this was their first attempt at an event such as this and they must be commended for attempting such an outdoor event after the weather we have had this summer.
Those were minor niggles and Katherine made her exit leaving everyone feeling very British and proud of it.
Thank you

A big THANK YOU to Katherine for another excellent concert at Close House Hotel. As always, Katherine provided a wonderful evening of entertainment for us.

The bonus was, of course, that it actually stayed dry for the whole concert. In comparison with my other outdoor concert attendances where it rained at some point.

As the others have said there were a number of issues, none of them related to Katherine or her team - the first was the big screen resolution which was a bit poor with flaring on white colours, the second was the sound quality on Katherine's higher range over the PA system but this was corrected after the first couple of songs. The third, and my biggest grouch, was just how disrespectful some of the audience were by chatting, moving around and getting drinks during the actual performances of both Katherine and the chellist. If they did not wish to hear the performances perhaps they should not have been there!!! The final issue for Close House Hotel to address is the 40 minutes of chaos in trying to get out of the car park - lots of guys in high viz jackets all running around but no-one actually controlling the flow of traffic other than one chap who was doing a good job but this was only at the exit point. I think that this was the worst level of disorganisation that I have seen at all the outdoor concerts that I have attended over the last 4 years.

I will try to list most of the set list but cannot guarantee that it is in the correct order.
Bring Me To Life
L'Alba Vera
Seguedilla

Amazing Grace
Una Voce Poca Fa
Time to Say Goodbye

I, Who Have Nothing
The Prayer?

A Nighingale Sang In Berkeley Square
We'll Meet Again
Proms/Patriotic Medley - Jerusalem
Land Of Hope And Glory
etc

I know that I have missed one song but cannot remember which it was and I have a questionmark at The Prayer as my memory may be playing tricks. I listened to 4 hours of Katherine's CD's on the way down and another 4 hours on the way home so I may have confused what was sung at the concert with my entertainment during the car journey - put it down to old age!!!!

Katherine started off a little hesitantly, I felt, but soon put this behind her to provide us with a superb evening of glorious singing and the final section was outstanding. It made the whole trip worth while!!

Once again many thanks to Katherine. I can't wait to see you in Glasgow in December with some songs from the new album I hope!!

Pam

Hi Katherine,Pam, Derek and all

Good reports thanks, sadly it happens at most of the outdoor concerts where people take picnics it is the alcohol that is the problem once a bottle or two of wine is drunk then the champagne! people forget they are there to listen to the music and tell jokes and shout at each other oblivious to the people around them... I went to see Leonard Cohen at Wembley arena (indoors) and could not believe how many people kept getting up and getting drinks or using the loo.... everytime they opened the door right by the stage usually leaving it open a huge shaft of light blazed across the audience. just awful, they would not do it in the theatre, I would exclude them from coming back in.... Ha Ha  Dave
