Nominate a Dad: Winner Chosen!
Thanks to everyone who NOMINATED A DAD in our Katherine Jenkins Fathers Day competition.
Congratulations Robert Wood! You have been chosen as our overall winner and will receive a signed copy of Katherine’s album ‘Believe’, as well as a congratulatory letter from the lady herself.
Robert says, “My dad is always there for me, and he adores my mum. In this crazy world we live in, he stills the waters of all he touches. He is a mountain of a man, both in stature and spirit. Ever ready to help those in need, he has been a guiding light in my every endeavour. His sense of humour and his simple though profound deeds, like tearing the embryonic bag of a still born pup with his teeth and breathing life into it, amaze me to this day. To me he’s always dad of the year.”
As promised we have also picked 4 runners up to feature here on www.katherinejenkins.co.uk. They are as follows:
Harvey Selwyn
"I would like to nominate my dad for the Fathers Day competition for more reasons than I can fit in to 100 words. He is my hero, my inspiration for everything that I am and do, I owe so much to him. His stories of his time in the war in Burma fill me with untold pride and understand how very lucky we are today to have him as our Dad. His patience and love know no bounds and he is always there with a smile to cheer us up when we feel down."
Karen Ashfield
"My dad is gentle kind and wise, always there to guide me but knew when to let me go to grow! He is my rock when I am poorly and my Island when I need sanctuary. He gives me hope when I think there is none and taught me to be a fighter but most of all he loved me with no condition. We were not rich but he gave me a gift for life that has no price…his dry sense of humour ! What more can a girl ask for."
Mike LaMar
"I would like to nominate my stepdad, Tine P. Martin, Sr., for your Best Dad competition. He worked several jobs, to help raise his three children and numerous grandchildren. Tine also served in Korea, during the Korean War, and has been active in local, state, national and international veterans’ organizations. He is also active in church and community affairs."
Jen Stirrup
"My husband, Stephen, is the best daddy because he loves my sick son dearly. My four year old has been in and out of hospital since birth, with various life-threatening conditions including severe asthma, allergies and gastro-intestinal problems. Sometimes we are transferred to a hospital outside of Hertfordshire; my husband has to drive back and forth between home and the hospital to get us necessities such as clothing and a favourite toy. Although this must be tiring for him, he never complains."
Now all that's left to do is wish all Fathers a Happy Fathers Day from Katherine and all at www.katherinejenkins.co.uk!
